Your love is a treasure,
and everyone finds shelter
in the shadow of your wings.
You give your guests a feast
    in your house,
and you serve a tasty drink
    that flows like a river.
The life-giving fountain
    belongs to you,
    and your light gives light
    to each of us.
Psalm 36:7-9 (CEV)

This past August gave us an opportunity to reflect on what it means for us to recognize our call to be the light in the world.  We literally created masterpieces during our painting party that reflected our previous scripture focus of Matthew 5:14-16. Visions, dreams, and light were a few words I used to discuss our calling to SHINE.

As we prepare to bless children across the world through Operation Christmas Child this November, I hope the above passage will resonate in our hearts.  While I'm sure each child will joyfully receive our gifts as sweet treasures, my hope is that they will ultimately know that our gifts of love stem from a deeper place.

For our greatest treasure, our greatest gift is the love that God has given us!  And it is His light that allows us to shine light into what may be very dark places.

I hope you will join me Saturday, November 4th at 4pm for our Operation Christmas Child packing party!

Please check out the video below and email me at if you would like to join us for the Lighthouse gathering.

Wow! That video was inspiring. I love how everyone plays their part to ensure the packages get to the children. That's dedication.

Me too! It really is inspiring! Thank you for checking it out!
